October 22, 2011: Save-A-Limb Ride, Walk, and Festival: Team Mayvin Supports a Good Cause
(Cockeysville, MD) Mayvin was proud to sponsor and participate in the 6th Annual Save-A-Limb Ride that took place at Oregon Ridge Park in Maryland on October 22nd. It was a beautiful fall day to ride or walk in support of the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics in Baltimore, MD. "Team Mayvin" had many participants in the event, including employees, spouses, colleagues, and friends. Some rode the Metric Century and 30-mile courses, and others chose to participate in the 1-mile walk. All proceeds and donations were raised to benefit the Save-A-Limb Fund, which will help change the lives of people struggling with limb or joint deformities. Mayvin was also the corporate sponsor of the Fitness Fair. Mayvin President, Carla Percy said, "Mayvin is very honored and proud to sponsor the Save-A-Limb Bike Ride, Walk and Festival two years running. We also appreciate the support shown by our employees and friends and look forward to continuing the tradition next year!"
The Save-A-Limb Fund was established in 2001 and supports in the fight to save limbs from amputation and provide hip and knee replacements to patients in need both domestically and abroad. The fund also works to advance patient care through the research and the work of the physicians and staff of the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics (RIAO) at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
