Nov 23, 2010: The Mayvin Consulting Group Graduates from 'VIP' Program That Trains Veteran-owned Business Executives on How to Win Federal Contracts
(Arlington, VA) Mayvin recently became one of the newest companies to graduate from the Veteran Institute for Procurement (VIP), a comprehensive training and certification program that helps veteran-owned business executives increase their success in winning federal government contracts, by establishing best business practices.
VIP is designed to help veteran-owned businesses increase their ability to win government contracts, by establishing best business practices. It is an 18-hour educational program instructed by professional service experts for veteran business owners, principals and C-level executives. Focus areas of the curriculum are: Business Structures, Contracting/Teaming Agreements, Human Resources, Compliance and Systems Approvals, Risk Management, Insurance, Internal Controls, Accounting, Marketing, Capture, Certifications, and Proposals. Offered at no cost to participants, VIP is funded entirely by the Montgomery County Chamber Community Foundation and VIP sponsors. "VIP provides veteran-owned business leaders who are looking to position themselves for greater success in the fast-growing marketplace of government contracting," said Barbara Ashe, president of the Montgomery County Chamber Community Foundation. "We're proud to offer this program and we're so appreciative of the contributions of both our corporate sponsors and the professionals who offer their valuable time and talent to provide the training." Recently, the Foundation announced a national expansion of the VIP program. MCCCF will launch the National Center for VIP at the Bolger Center in Montgomery County, Maryland, beginning in March 2011.
