June 21, 2011: Team Celestar Selected for Department of Defense Multi-Award Contract
(ARLINGTON, VA) The Mayvin Consulting Group, Inc., a dynamic project management support services company, was part of Team Celestar which has won an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) multiple-award contract from the Department of Defense's Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization (JIEDDO). The Team was selected as one of 4 awardees for the JIEDDO Directed Analysis Support Services (DASS) program, which has a ceiling of $157 million over five years, if all options are exercised.
The Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization was established as a Deputy Secretary of Defense directed initiative with the mission to rapidly provide solutions to defeat the Enemy's Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Campaign and save service members' lives deployed fighting insurgent networks that employ IEDs as a strategic weapon of choice.
Under the DASS contract, Mayvin will participate in researching and capturing open source information and provide a conduit to harvest the best thinking and innovations from leading industry and academic experts from the United States, its allies, and coalition partners to provide insights into the likely effects for the counter-improvised explosive device (IED) fight.
